- HIM Solar park is under construction at Toraneset miljøpark, located outside Haugesund. HIM Toraneset will be the first large-scale ground mounted solar park in the region. When completed, the plant will deliver 2.7 GWh of electricity to the grid annually – equivalent to the electricity consumption of about 160 households.HIM Toraneset Solar Park is a collaboration with Haugaland Interkommunale Miljøverk (HIM), which is commissioning a new landfill site. The former landfill will be decommissioned and monitored for 30 years as required. During this time, the area will be repurposed for renewable energy production – turning otherwise unused land into a long-term contributor to the green transition.
